I just had a test - and it wasn't that bad!

All these horror stories about how they shove a 6 foot pole up your nose and jab it around for 20 minutes.

Have what is probably a very heavy cold but the Zoe app recommended a test. Super easy to book a slot online, about 2 cars at the testing centre (big airport) and 50 staff. Drove straight in, lovely lady did the test, the throat slightly uncomfortable but nose fine. All done and dusted in about 3 minutes.

Fully expecting the test to come back negative but kids having fun treating me like i've got the plague.

There was talk about an "answer in 30 minutes" test which could make normal airtravel so much easier.

Plus many other situations

DD had an emergency operation last night. She said the test a couple of hours before and it wasn't pleasant, and she gagged.

I'm about to do my home test. Hoping I don't mess it up

Can it be done just by throat swab alone ? I’m so concerned as have a nose problem and I’m due to have planned surgery in a few weeks - will they need a covid test before and can it be done without the nose swab ?

I felt I had a bit of a temperature last week (no other symptoms), so ordered a home testing kit, (as I no longer drive), ordered Saturday, arrived yesterday. Did test this morning but was shaking so much I'm sure I messed it up. I found it very stressful, had a sleepless night beforehand and was very nervous. I am still shaking. Think I might be lying on the sofa for a bit today. It doesn't help that I'm suffering from high anxiety at the moment due to fear of the virus. Would not do home test again. Temperature is now normal, and no other symptoms. Sorry to be so gloom and doom.
