I'm sure it's just a bit of tonsillitis, but I've had two days of a sore throat (on one side) and a swollen red tonsil. I'm a bit stuffy nosed. I can't decide if my chest feels a bit tight or I'm overthinking it and I have a headache.

Headache, fever and very achey then developed upset stomach. Lost 11lbs in weight and towards the end lost taste and smell. Also terrible night sweats. Confirmed COVID. Was off work for 3 weeks and was very tired for 3 weeks or so after that. No sore throat and no cough.

MrsBennetsnerves · 11/06/2020 23:09

I had on-off sore throat for a couple of days, not continuous but I'd notice it coming and going. Also chills, again occasional. Then I started getting fever, raised lymph node in neck, sore throat and aching jaw all on the same side, bad headache. The jaw pain is not a typical symptom, but aches and pains in general are. I didn't get any chest related symptoms or cough until 5 days after the fever started.

@Lemons1571

Yes my chest has not got back to full capacity still I get much more puffed out than I used to and get lots of tightness, pain and/or wheezing on my chest after I exert myself. I wonder if there might be some longer term damage. I will have to wait and see

Oh yes I forgot about ten diarrhoea, chills and headache. We had those too. In fact I remember saying "well it can't be covid it must be the flu" because of those symptoms.

CherryPavlova · 11/06/2020 23:17

The worst sore throat in a long time. It hurt my ears too.
High temperature. Husband thought I felt like a radiator but I felt cold.
Tight chest, cough, hard to talk in sentences.
Headache.
Really sore eyes too. Heavy limbed and aching. Not wanting to move at all. Just needed to curl up with a second duvet.

No idea if I've had it or not but I had a fever for about 10 days. I had a headache, no cough, throat siightly tingly for a couple of days but it never got worse than that. I lost my appetite but I can't recall if I lost my sense of taste because a) I didn't eat much b) it wasn't a symptom I was looking out for. I was quite breathless and couldn't even eat food without getting out of breath. I had a pain in my chest and it felt like an elephant was sitting on it. I had a heavy ache between my shoulder blades. I felt this way for most of March and April. I had days when I felt I was getting better and then days when I felt terrible. There were odd days when my temperature would rise for no reason. I would say I'm still not 100%
In normal times I would have booked a GP appointment but back in March my GP's surgery (receptionist) was refusing to speak to anyone with a fever and referring people to 111. I called 111 on 2 occasions and both times was on hold for 2 hours before getting cut off.
Very frightening, but in the end I muddled through without medical help.
Was it Covid-19? I have no idea.

Started with sore throat, terrible headache and aching limbs. Very slight cough but no fever. Sense of taste and smell disappeared very abruptly a few days in, then moved on to exhaustion, insomnia and about 10 days of nasty GI symptoms. Took the best part of 6 weeks to feel anything like better and still getting sporadic post-viral symptoms.

blueangel1 · 12/06/2020 00:08

Oh, and loss of taste and smell lasted over 3 weeks and my sense of smell still hasn't come back properly.

FabulouslyElegantTits · 12/06/2020 11:05

@notangelinajolie

Your symptoms sound very classic,If it quacks like a duck ....

FabulouslyElegantTits · 12/06/2020 11:07

@blueangel1

My sense of smell came back very quickly but my sense of taste is still a bit odd nearly 3mths later, coffee has not tasted the same since before I was ill.

@Lovingmylife - yep. Ordered one off the NHS website. Still got a sore throat today & feel a bit lousy & cold. No sign of the test today so guessing it’ll arrive tomorrow, it’s been dispatched! Thankfully it’s pouring down today so I’ll be hiding in doors regardless 😅
