Hi there I'm very early on in my pregnancy 6 weeks, I've been asked to go back to work next week but I'm not too sure if I'm still classed as high risk due to covid or if I am able to return?
Can anyone help?

Ring your GP for advice. Are you currently furloughed? Your employer could continue to furlough you if you do need to shield they may ask for a letter of proof from your GP though.

Also does your employer know your pregnant?

Pregnant women are not being told to shield as they are only vulnerable and jot high risk. This means that you need to be able to maintain social distancing at work, and it is your employers job to make it safe for you to come to work. If they cant do so then they need to suspend youbkn full pay or put you on special leave. Either way you must be paid your full wage

Thanks so much for your messages, yes they know I'm pregnant I had a mc in March so I wanted to tell them just incase something happens again. Yes I will beable to social distance myself. X

Are you currently furloughed or working from home? If it’s the latter, perhaps you can appeal to their better nature and ask if you can carry on working from home. Congratulations. :) Flowers

Pregnant women are not classed as high risk, people who are shielding are classed as high risk (they have received letters from the NHS asking them to stay indoors and avoid all contact with anyone else). Pregnant women are required to maintain social distancing.
