Great news but too expensive for us as a family. We usually wait for the offers or half price days. I appreciate zoos cannot do this, and shouldn’t due to them needing funding.

We would love to go, but certainly not whilst husband is on 80 percent pay.

"Zoos and Safari Parks to reopen "

Excellent 👏🏼
At last something for kids to enjoy

This thread sums up the MN community at the moment. A great post about getting zoo's open. It's fantastic that they're getting to open again for a whole range of reasons and yet half the posts on this are negative or moaning about something else being open instead or how they can't access it.

So I don't live anywhere near a zoo. Never mind, some people are going to get some joy out of it. I'm pleased for them and the staff/animals at them!

Will Zoos require wearing face coverings & PPE the whole time we're there?

Outdoors, why would they ?
At the most, only if people have to queue for giftshop, takeaway, loos

it's really good news for us. One of the few activities my very-disabled-by-his-autism 13yo ds can access. It might actually save his life.

YeOldeTrout · 10/06/2020 12:46

Zoos can set their own rules for admission, or govts might have insisted on face coverings regardless of weak evidence that support face coverings. Hence why I wondered if someone knew if face covers were required rather than wanted to speculate about it.

I am really glad from a personal POV, it means my son's job will probably now be safe.

I’m so pleased (even though I am shielding and can’t go yet). My local zoo has lots of wide open spaces and it will be very easy for visitors to social distance. It was looking bleak for the animals if many zoos had to go under.

Our local zoo plans to reopen tomorrow with social distancing.
I was going to have a look at the Giraffe, but perhaps I am sticking my neck out.
