Has any one felt better with covid19 then had a relapse

As title really, I have had covid symptoms for 8 days and a positive test after exposure to a patient at work, today I am feeling quite a bit better although still not great but am hopeful on the right track. Is it likely this it or is there a chance I could go downhill again? Thanks

I did, quite significantly.

My first week was 1 bout of chest pain, aches, chronic headache, metallic taste, dizzy etc, started to feel better.

I got worse & worse after that, struggling to breath and hospital was considered.

Covid 19 to Pleurisy to Viral Pneumonia.

My.G.P has arranged a chest XRay today, as I'm week 13 and suffering greatly with chest pain as well as lots of other symptoms.

There are lots in thr samr boat as me, and lots and lots of people feel better after a week.

It varies greatly. It really does.

I hope this is the worst bit for you.

Oh your initial symptoms sound like me the past week, so sorry you have been so poorly and hope you're on the road to recovery, my chest is still very sore today and my muscles are aching but cough and headache much better today, guess I'm not letting my guard down for a few days then.

Take ot easy if you can, stock up on food for the freezer, take paracetamol.every 6 hours and rest as much as possible, which is hard I know.

There are Post Covid Teams around now, that can monitor you if.you have any problems.

I didnt have a temp, I had chills, barely had a cough, but I have had intense tinnitus from day 1.

I still cant lay flat, still sleep sitting up.
Its bloody awful, but we will get there!

Keep an eye out for acid reflux, a lot of us are suffering wheezing & breathlessness still, due to acid in the lungs.

We are on another thread if you need to follow, its not scary, its just good support when it drags on & on.

I really hope yours doesn't.

Some people have relapses some weeks later, in some cases more than one. I thought I had a straight upward curve after the first really nasty week but I had a relapse 8 weeks in. I'm now on week 12 and things feel on the up again but am still taking it easy as my chest still doesn't feel the same as it did pre covid. Often relapses seem to happen after people exert themselves a little more. Recovery as well as symptoms vary quite a lot and you might be okay, but listen to your body and dont push it if you find you're tiring quickly.

Scottishgirl85 · 09/06/2020 15:28

Yes my colleague has. She has had various relapses and has been in and out of work (mostly out) for 13 weeks. 40, fit and healthy, and no underlying health conditions.

UnderTheBus · 09/06/2020 16:41

Yes this seems to be quite common, with the reoccurence being worse than the original symptoms.

immrmeeseeks · 09/06/2020 16:46

Thanks all, hope anyone poorly is feeling better very soon! I'm not going to start celebrating yet then, luckily have food sorted and work very supportive if I do go downhill again, out of interest, those of you who have had it do other members of your household get ill too?

Im glad you have food sorted,

Its just DD & I at home,.we had to top & tail when I was my worst, so I didnt have to get out of bed in the night to chexk on her, I was too breathless to walk that far, and had to do 2 stairs, then sit, then 2 stairs and sit etc, untilI got to the top.

She had 2 days of breathlessness, 1 purple toe and a persistent cough for the same 2 days, then bouncing around.

I literally couldnt clean the door handles, as I was too weak, so I resigned myself to the fact that DD might get it as well,

But likeI say we co-slept, so it was probably all over the house from me.

We did use a seperate bar of dettol soap & had our ownhandtowels though, and I didnt let her use my drinking glasses.

immrmeeseeks · 09/06/2020 16:58

No one else in my house showing symptoms although the 4yo has randomly coughed a few times, he ends up in with me most nights, the teens isolate themselves in their bedrooms anyways, only see them when they want fed! Will just have to see how it goes I suppose, hopefully upwards but my chest is burning this afternoon Sad

Have you got any Gaviscon? Sad

immrmeeseeks · 09/06/2020 17:41

Yes my partner uses it, will have a glue, he also has omperazole will that help?

OP posts:
immrmeeseeks · 09/06/2020 17:43

Glug that should say not glue!

Ernieshere · 09/06/2020 18:15

The G.P gave me Omeprazole last week, it says no other remedies 2 hours before & 2 hours after Omeprazole, so I take Omeprazole first thing, then Gaviscon, lunch, dinner & bed.

My son had what I’m very sure was covid (Doctor said most likely too) at the end of February and he recovered after a week.
Four weeks later he lost his sense of taste and smell and the cough returned with a vengeance. He’s still coughing now but feels ok energy wise and isn’t breathless.
