.. hardly any posts in here are about actual health, it's all about schools or holidays. If someone is genuinely concerned about having virus symptoms they are basically told to get back to work, so it's a useless post. People with long tail illnesses are all in one thread, which could be moved to a health board.

Clearly COVID is not the issue it has been for MN posters. Aren't we lucky.

Mental health ones can go to mental health.
School ones can go to education.
Holiday ones can go to travel.
COVID ones can go to general health.

The way I originally found this topic was by joining in on a thread in chat, which then got moved to this section. Now I just click on “Threads I’m on” and access it that way, so have never once arrived here via clicking on the health topic, hence I didn’t have a clue it was in health.

No worries, fenceposts Smile

There’s two camps on here, those who weigh up risk and want to get on with life & those terrified to leave their houses. Find those who suit your opinion & you’ll be fine!

Can we just STOP with this SHIT.

We are all weighing up risk, we all want to get on with LIFE. Some of us are choosing to stay home because we are vulnerable/shielding/protecting shielding people. If you're not in that position then get on with what you're currently permitted to do and stop being so bloody dismissive & nasty.

Most people would not have come to the CoronaVirus topic via the list of topics, rather by a thread in active. I guess MN put the CORONA VIRUS TOPIC under health, because it's a pandemic. We have TOPICS, and they can be hidden. They would not have put it here simply to discuss how we are feeling medically.

Most threads are pretty obvious whatbtheyre about, just tap on the ones that interest you and ignore the rest.

I certainly don't want them spread out amongst all of the topics and neither do MNHQ, hence them making a dedicated space for them.

I’m horrified that teachers think parents want their dc back to school so they can do yoga uninterrupted. Just so offensive on so many levels. And we’re the bullies.

If this topic disappeared, people wouldn't neatly stick their mental health threads on the mental health thread, the holiday ones in travel, etc, as you suggest - people don't frequent those boards because they don't get much traffic. You'd end up with AIBU and Chat full of coronavirus related threads instead - as was the case before this board existed.

It also went there I imagine because that's where the swine flu topic went. That never turned into much more than a health topic though, and the posts were subsumed into general health at some point.

The thing is that this is all of our daily lives now. There's almost nothing it doesn't affect. Coronavirus related posts aren't all being moved here any more, there would be too many. It makes sense to keep it though to make some of the cv discussions easier to find, and as the root cause is an illness Health probably makes more sense than anywhere else.
