No social distancing at school

My ds hasn’t gone back yet but saw the photos on the school FB group and there is no social distancing for the children going back. I understand playtime there is no point even trying but in the classroom the children are sat as normal.

Is this right or should they be trying to socially distance?

HOw old are they?

At my sons school there is no social distancing in nursery, reception and yr1.
In yr 6 there is.
I work in secondary and we have social distancing and complying to it is being added to our behaviour policy...

It depends how old they are.

This is the idea with the bubbles - small groups they stay in though the day

As orangeblossom says the point of the bubbles was to avoid having to make small children social distance as it's hard for them to do so. So instead you get groups of up to 15 kids that are isolated from other groups. If one person in the group get covid the people in the bubble will need to isolate but the rest of the school can stay open.

Some schools have decided to try to social distance within the bubbles (which I don't think this was the original intent). This may reduce the chance of spread within a bubble but wouldn't stop a whole bubble being isolated if there was a case as far as I'm aware.

It's meant to be a maximum of 15 children to a class, whilst this might not tick the 2m rule box, it may help. Every window and door is open in our school. Children lining up or eating lunch on the field have to spread out.

Do you know how many are in a class, or is it 15?
