Law against having anyone in your house

Sorry, but as restrictions are easing, how is it possible that they want to criminalise people in their own homes. So if you have a partner or family member who is wfh but lives separately you cannot invite them even if you have both been isolating and the risk is zero. Fuck this useless government.

OP posts:

This is absolutely insane. It will be against the law for any young person who lives with their parents to have sex. This is such an intrusion and is totally out of all proportion to the risks from the virus.

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 01/06/2020 19:08

It's appalling. We're easing towards some sort of dictator state.

Having read some of the posts on here over the last few months I'm sure some people will be delighted.

I long for the bloke I really like to come round my house and literally touch everything 😂😂

Nat6999 · 01/06/2020 19:13

So is someone going to be knocking on everyone's door each day to check who is there? This is impossible to police, another one of those rules that is a joke.

Stressymcstressfacs · 01/06/2020 19:19

In England they haven’t given police power of entry. In Wales they have. So I’m not really sure what the point in this law is in England as it doesn’t seem like they could enforce it?

I think they hoped it would not need an actual law but people were obviously not taking the hint so they needed to put a stop to all these affairs.

CoachBombay · 01/06/2020 19:25

So Welsh police officers are going to be "making entry" in to a house when they hear some sex noises coming from it to check everyone lives there?

What will be accepted as proof a utility bill dated in the last 3 months 🤔

MadameMarie · 01/06/2020 19:26

@ky07

How will anyone know? Take a look at the topics started on here! Plenty of people would relish it!! Plus, I don't really care if it can be proven or how likely it is to be used. I consider it an overstep at this point in time. Ultimately, the whole thing is nonsense because I'm sure there are groups of more than 6 gathering all over without consequence. A law can't turn back the tide of badly this has been handled, doesn't mean I have to be happy about it though.
Curtain twitchers will know and then inform on you.
PrimeroseHillAnnie · 01/06/2020 19:28

The virus will spread a lot quicker in a confined space which is why you can meet people outside altho you must maintain social distancing. The regulations have to cover everybody and if you keep adding caveats then it becomes confusing and people just ignore it.

LastTrainEast · 01/06/2020 20:02

Did anyone really believe that they made a law against sex? I mean even the article admits that it's a consequence not the purpose of it.

Personally I think we've wasted enough time and effort trying to save the lives of the dim and ungrateful. Go for it. Don't let them take away your human right to be stupid.

NaturalBornWoman · 01/06/2020 20:07

Why is everyone falling for the press whipping up yet another frenzy? Nothing has changed. You haven’t been able to go into other people’s houses since the start of the lockdown. Non cohabiting partners had the option to move in together right at the beginning, you’ve known all along you weren’t supposed to be going backwards and forwards between houses.

Ponoka7 · 01/06/2020 20:11

I thought that one of the aims is to stop drunken get togethers, once the football starts up again. This, in writing, means that they can break up parties early, without other criminal activity going on, first.

Stressymcstressfacs · 01/06/2020 20:15

@NaturalBornWoman if has changed previously it was ‘advice’ today it’s been made ‘law’
Big difference in those

Stressymcstressfacs · 01/06/2020 20:15

*it has

Lumene · 01/06/2020 20:18

It will be against the law for any young person who lives with their parents to have sex.

They need to find a decent cornfield or some other kind of secluded spot. Outdoor sex is not illegal even in groups of up to 6. Against social distancing guidelines though.

Doesn’t the guidance have to be reviewed every 14 days now as well? Hopefully it will be quickly changed back as lockdown eases.

Wannabangbang · 01/06/2020 20:19

Is there anywhere reputable ie a government source that actually states this law is real as tabloids have quite often made up anything they like lately like 'social bubbles' which don't exist in the way the papers stated they would hmmm not convinced on how this can be law or policeable!

Redolent · 01/06/2020 20:20

As someone pointed out, loopholes abound. You can stay the night if you ‘can’t legally travel’ home, eg if you’ve had a few drinks....

Redolent · 01/06/2020 20:22

Sorry that failed. Can someone else link to the legislation for @Wannabangbang

Stilllookingfor · 01/06/2020 20:28

Ask Cummings! Maybe if you have a flat in your garden, can justify it.... (I agree OP)

Wannabangbang · 01/06/2020 20:29

So this law was in place all along which i understand but why exactly is it being pedalled by the media now nearly all restrictions have eased, so a couple cannot meet and cuddle yet 6 loons can get pissed up in the park. I don't get it!
