Vulnerable people and going back to school

Is there any official guidance on whether children on the vulnerable list are meant to go back to school on 1st June or not? I keep reading so much conflicting advice. Ds is 5 and clinically vulnerable but not shielding.

I thought vulnerable people were still following original shielding guidelines?

I think you've got the same free choice as everyone else. School is entirely optional this term.

The advice is that you should contact your GP if you are concerned about him going back. That's for clinically vulnerable but not clinically extremely vulnerable, so I think the advice may depend on the condition and his well managed it is.

Shielding obviously don't go back.

My DS is in Y6 and clinically vulnerable (but not shielding). The guidance says that in these cases parents should seek advice from their GP.

The exceptionally medically vulnerable (aka 'shield' group) are still banged up.

The (much larger) vulnerable groups (flu jab group, including the elderly and the pregnant) are expected to be extremely diligent in all social distancing, and can be furloughed, but the full, shield level restrictions are not recommended for them.

I would talk to the school about how they intend to manage the school day, and then decide the risk/benefit equation for your vulnerabilities at the moment.

I'm in the vulnerable group and a teacher. The advice for staff is that they should work from home if possible and where that isn't possible they should be given the "safest jobs'. I'm not sure about advice for children though sorry.
