DSD lives in Wales can we pick her up?

DSD(14) lives in Wales, we live in England. So far she has chosen to stay at home. Today she said she's like to come to us until schools open for her to attend.

I've searched the internet but cannot find any guidance about whether DH can pick her up. We were okay before the rules changed for both countries and knew we could pick her up before.

Is there any one on here in a similar situation that can give us a definitive answer?

Of course it is allowed and always has been. Children can swap between their individual parents homes.

If anyone tries to turn him back he wd be quite justified in telling them to eff off or 'go and scratch' as they say in Wales. Sorry can't spell it in Welsh ...

My family live in North Wals, police have been quite vigilant in stopping people in cars.

This would be a perfectly valid reason to come across. If you're stopped just explain what you're doing.

We were stopped literally three minutes outside our village, the first time my DS has been in a car for since 23rd March. We were going to the supermarket, the three of us, DP was going to wait in the car with DS. The policeman told us to turn around, go home and one of us go shopping! Blush

Certainly Dyfed Powys cops have been seen stopping cars leaving aberystwyth. I bet they love it.

Just explain to them that you're testing your eyesight.

I'm sure they will be fine with that.
