I know no one knows for sure but can anyone hazard a guess at how long the advice from the government is likely to stay as if you can work from home do so? I no it will be pure speculation but just curious!

Ours have said continue wfh TIL we feel it’s safe to go back to the office. Not only but the Publix transport as well. We also work client site few days a week so it’d not be advisable to keep switching between offices. And if they asked meto stop wfh and work at the client every day (1 hour commute but 2 different trains) then I’d quit and I’d expect many of my colleagues would as well

I don't see why the government should change their advice on this while there's any risk. Obviously if wfh isn't long term viable for some businesses/roles then there will be a drift back to workplaces, but if wfh is working then best carry on.

Staff in my office have roles that mean they can WFH so I have just told all staff that the office will be closed until at least the end of August and probably for longer. I thought that would allow people a small degree of certainty in a very uncertain world and allow planning, especially given that not much in the way of childcare is likely to be available during that time.

The Royal Society (an association of the best scientists in the country, membership is very prestigious) have said their building will be closed and all their staff working from home until January 2021 at the earliest. So I’m taking that as the best indicator for now!
