Has anyone had Covid twice?

Just that really?
I'm aware that symptoms can wax and wane but does anyone with confirmed or suspected infection feel that they fully recovered and then had second reinfection?

Thanks for your reply Sandy, hope you're recovering well. That's an interesting comment from Dr.

I've been wondering this too. Any cases known of at all actually.

GeriGeranium · 20/05/2020 00:30

There have been cases where people had it, then tested negative, then had it again.

At this stage we don’t really know if having it once makes you immune afterwards.

VicesReturning · 20/05/2020 01:22

I had it, then thought I was fine, then had it 'again'. In reality, I think I just hadn't recovered from the first time and the second time was actually a flare up of the first

SANDY2016 · 20/05/2020 21:39

Lakeflypie lots of people have second test and it can still come bk positive due to cells been coughed up from your lungs I think your bound to have a better chance of immunity if had it once

Based on no science I've read and I could be very wrong, but surely by now (even if in other countries if not enough testing here) if you could get it again, there would be people who have been hospitalised and tested positive who would then be hospitalised again. I know the percentages who end up in hospital are very small, but surely statistically with the numbers across the world who have been tested in hospital, there would be some repeat admissions confirmed with a test.

Or hospital workers (across the world) who have tested positive from even mild symptoms, self isolated and returned to work... surely statistically you'd have some confirmed cases of them testing positive again.

I am absolutely not a conspiracy theory believer, but if you need people to follow lock down rules (even relaxed ones), would you push the point that you're very unlikely to get it again? - Aren't people who've had it then going to ignore all lock down and distancing rules? And be pretty peed off that their life is so restricted for no reason. Giving 'the masses' the fear that you could get it again keeps them at home.

The WHO have only said that there isn't enough evidence yet to say having it offers immunity. They be not indicated at all that you can.
