Body ache and sore throat yesterday. Today headache and temperature as well.

I live with my DH and 2 young DC.
I might have passed the infection to them and feeling miserable now... they're not showing any signs yet but it's too early, isn't it?
I don't have any underlying condition and have never fallen ill in the last 15 yrs or so. DH has had pneumonia in the past and has high BP.
DH and my family are all abroad... a few friends around. Don't want to tell our families as they'll start worrying and bombard us with phone calls every day and make me more anxious.

I'm usually very strong but the thought of my young DC and DH getting it is making me weepy and really worried. Sad

I'm sorry. I know it's scary but please try not to worry. It's not impossible to avoid passing it on to your family. Even if they did catch it, all of you are more likely that not to be just fine. Particularly children who mostly only have mild form. It's important to try to stay positive (although hard). That helps the immune system. If you're very concerned about your husband could one of you sleep on the sofa or a spare room? Wipe or spray communal surfaces, taps, handles, etc.

Take it easy. Focus on rest and recovery. Try to nip it in the bud. Shaking it off early if at all possible is the way to go. Lots and lots of rest. Keep hydrated. Sip warm drinks. Take zinc. It's not a miracle cure or anything but it does help boost the immune system. Vitamin C and Vitamin D too. Healthy immune boosting foods. Garlic. Turmeric. Leafy greens. Herbs like oregano and sage and rosemary. Licorice for your throat and any cough.

I hope you feel better very soon and hope your family stays well.

Thank you for your kind words Toffee!
We are lucky to have a spare room so DH has moved out already.
Will keep myself hydrated, eat well and will try to stay positive.
Hopefully, like you mentioned we all will be fine.
Thanks. Smile

But avoid the licorice for your dh if he had high blood pressure

ThatsItNow · 18/05/2020 03:26

Thanks... I'll keep that in mind.

I have been using the ZOE app since a month to record symptoms so got called for a COVID test today... should know the results by Tuesday. 🤞

That’s good that they’re testing you- hope you feel better very soon. Flowers

Ds had symptoms 10 days ago, sore throat, cough, aching & temperature of 37.9, couldn't get a test as he is 16, also developed upset stomach, feeling sick & runs. 10 days later he is just starting to feel better, we are staying with my 81 year old mum as I've been poorly since before christmas, so he has been confined to his room for 10 days, if he continues to improve he will be able to mix again by friday & thankfully neither my mum or me have caught it.

IHateCoronavirus · 18/05/2020 03:51

We had it too op, started with me and spread through the house. I had it worse but DHs lasted longer. The DCs had the cough- flu like symptoms very mildly but all got the toe spots!

Fingers crossed you all get it mildly if at all.

EarlLeighIndamornin · 18/05/2020 04:30

Where do you think you got it?

ThatsItNow · 18/05/2020 05:07

Nat6999, I hope your DS gets better soon. Have you been using the app I mentioned? When I was registering for the test, they could test anyone above the age of 5 though the testing centre I went to was only above age of 12. So your DS probably could get a test? They ideally like to test in the first 5 days of the infection but no harm trying.
I hope you and your mum remain well and DS recovers soon. Best wishes. Thanks

IHateCoronavirus, sorry to hear that all of you got it. Glad your children only got it mildly. The thought of your children in any kind of pain always worries a parent.
But good to know you and your DH recovered from it and are now well.

EarlLeigh, no idea where exactly. We usually do a 'click and collect' for groceries but I go to the small Sainsbury's near our house some times for basics, when we run out of them. DH has been working from home since lockdown, kids are out of school...

However, I have a strong feeling now that I could have Strep Throat infection as I checked my mouth last night and I could see white spots on the tonsils. Symptoms of that include the ones I've been getting (sore throat, painful swallowing, fever, fatigue...) I could be wrong and only the COVID result tomorrow will clarify stuff.
I'll speak to my GP over the phone nevertheless and see what they have to say.

Hopefully you'll sail through it OP.
What's the toe spots please?

ThatsItNow · 18/05/2020 10:22

Monty27, I think it's usually seen in young children... blisters/rash on toes or feet. It could be red or purple coloured.

Thank you everyone for your kind words!
Just thought I'll update you all- I got my Covid result some time back and it's Negative!Smile
The GP diagnosed Tonsillitis so has prescribed me a course of antibiotics.
