I think it's super important to be vigilant during this extraordinary and unpredictable period - with ourselves, our children, our families. I'm an Author and a mental health advocate, and it is extremely hard to keep abreast of the daily bombardments and negative energy surrounding us. More importantly, we should be teaching our children not only how to cope, but these feelings are okay. Often the stigma surrounding mental health and negative emotion is layered up with trying to find solutions, whether that be changing diet, lifestyle, or simply saying that feeling negative is wrong or dissolute. This presents further challenges.
I have recently written a book to counteract this frame of thought. It is a simple representation of how emotions work. I am in no way an expert in human behaviour or thought, but acceptance is a universal feeling. Please take your time to have a look at my writing:

It is aimed for children, but can also be a pick me up for adults. The language is extremely simple and effective, and often we need a small reminder that what we feel is not something we should push away - rather we should embrace it.
If you are struggling during this time - I urge you to talk to someone. Please share how you feel raising your children under lockdown. And remember you are never alone in this.
