So come on then, anyone prepared to own up and say they went an panic bought all the bottled water when The Prime Minister inaccurately said that there was Covid in the water during his speech on Monday?

No...but I did hear you can avoid catching it by using mouth wash.

Connie222 · 15/05/2020 17:36

Did he?

I’m sure people would be in a panic if he said that.

BrokenBrit · 15/05/2020 17:37

Embarrassingly, he did actually say it.
It had to be retracted. He mixed up water with sewage Hmm.

Connie222 · 15/05/2020 17:55

Jesus Christ. What a twat.

CoronaLonaSad · 15/05/2020 17:58

Did he not just mean it metaphorically? You know, when people say 'there's something in the water'?

Omg who elected this imbecile?! Proof that a private education doesn't necessarily equal a good level of critical thought or intelligence!

I haven’t heard that comment but your thread reminded me that there is at least one study (in France I think - read about it about a month ago. There might be more information about this from different sources by now), where they noticed the virus can be detected in sewage water. Not in a viable, active form but remnants of it. That’s how I understood it but it was worded better. So the aim was to analyse water in different regions as a detection tool to estimate areas with higher active cases.
