Aibu to find this annoying

After the general bafflement of Sunday's announcement the general mood seems to be changing a bit on my social media. There are now a lot of Karen's sharing things about how Boris shouldn't have to mother us and the guidelines are clear if 'you're not a thick twat' (that's a real one I've seen).

Are these people serious or are they wanting to think they're a bit cleverer than the rest of us by being able to decipher the waffle government have been spouting?

I agree that we do need to take responsibility for our own actions but surely the whole point of government is to guide us based on the in depth knowledge by experts that they have? The guidelines have been explained more over the week but it's still incredibly vague. How can people still be defending government after the hideous figures? And why do people seem to think it's down to us to make sense of the rules when government clearly should have been clearer?

I would say YABU. The government are guiding us based on data collected, opinions of experts etc. As the only ones with access to these resources, we have to trust them to an extent and accept they know more than any of us. I personally don't think the new set of guidance is vague. I think there are gaps but it's impossible to have an answer to every single person's personal circumstances.

Yanbu, people are confusing "use your common sense" with "do what you like"

In my town use your common sense = stay indoors. Do not get fresh air, sunshine and exercise. Do not improve your fitness, vitamin d levels or mental health. Just hide indoors until it all goes away.
Well I'm happy to be one of the 'covidiots' and get outside and focus on being as happy and healthy as I can.

I think it's clear. I read the published 'roadmap'. Lots of references and contingencies (if this happens then that can happen). But it doesn't take much to find the answers to specific questions (like can I work out with my personal trainer in person now - the answer is yes if outside by the way). Do you have a specific concern that you cant find the answer to?
The thing is this is unprecedented. So to an extent the government is making it up as they go along, because the experts don't have all the answers either.
