Trying to get clarification on whether these groups should still not be going out at all.

Gov.uk is not clear as far as I can see.

Can anyone help please?

No, we are not supposed to be shielding (i.e. staying at home at all times).

We are, however, supposed to be particularly careful about social distancing.

Clinically vulnerable and clinically extremely vulnerable are two seperate catergories, the extremely vulnerable are the shielding ones.

The clinically vulnerable can go out but still need to be stringent with social distancing, I fall into this category with having asthma.

Sorry I may have misunderstood.

Shielding is for “extremely clinically vulnerable” (who should have received a letter).

Particular care with social distancing is for “clinically vulnerable”, which I think is broadly those who are offered a yearly flu jab.

See no 8 on this list for more details on clinically vulnerable.

Thank you, I just couldn’t find that bit on the website. 🙄

@Jungfraujoch don't worry it took
Me ages to find it the other day when I tried.

Clinically extremely vulnerable - shielded

Clinically vulnerable - social distancing with extra care; even now should wfh wherever possible, etc.

Think there are also guidance points which cover other families/households where there is a someone in the house shielded or vulnerable too.
