School Places and staying off due to Covid

Hi all, I've seen a number of people saying they are going to keep their children away from school until at least September. I've read that schools won't fine parents if they keep their children away from school between the 1st of June start back date and the summer. However, keeping in mind that it's 6 weeks of school roughly, could schools start removing places from children because they aren't in attendance and aren't sick?

I very much doubt this shit show of a government can get effective track and trace established, ever.

My worry about sending my son isn't only to do with the risk to him.
It's to do with the staff. Other families. My unborn baby.

Then there's the fact that school won't resemble anything he has seen before and since he didn't like it before he is less likely to get on well in an unfamiliar room with a different member or staff and less of his friends...
He is learning well at home so my motivation for sending him is social and emotional. If those things aren't looking any better then why would I send him?

People might think that it's cool to chop the legs off any hope that shielded families have to rejoin society - cynical about the viability of a vaccine, treatment options and track and trace - and make them feel that their only option is to accept their fate but I think it just makes you a bit of a dick, tbh.
