Do you think things will ever return to our 'old normal'

Just that really. I know a lot depends on whether we find a vaccine and/or effective treatment but I wonder if some things will just never return to how they were before Coronavirus. At the moment it is hard to imagine life as it was before and I can't see it ever being exactly the same again.

9/11 for example changed the way we live in many ways but we have largely adapted and most people see it as normal now. Things like going through airport security, not carrying more than 100ml in hand luggage, being checked before entering large venues, being suspicious of abandoned bags are all a normal part of life now.

What do you imagine changing permanently in the long term due to Coronavirus?

they can’t deny the massive effect on the environment that not having 500 plus cars a day on the road when they are not needed

No, because life never goes 'back to normal'.

By the time people were recovering from the 2008 crash, technology had already radically changed politics and entertainment.

In the the UK, we won't be able to go back to a previous relationship with Europe.

The new Bank of England manager has indicated that there won't be austerity measures this time around so maybe it may not be as bad as it was in 08? ( he was on the Peston show last night)
I do try to understand how they can buy the debts etc but it's hard to get your head around such huge figures and how it works.
It did give me a bit of hope that they really want the economy to bounce back ASAP.
I'm still sceptical but have to see how it goes I suppose.

@JimMaxwellantheshippingforcast I’m no scientist but they started somewhere along the evolutionary path, this will be no different.
