Do people think this means all businesses?
What does 'no later' mean, if it has to be safe? It would be good to think this is a plan for some sort of normality to return.

I think he meant to say ‘no earlier than’ as that’s what he said for the other stages and last night. Think he just made a cock up 😂

StealthPolarBear · 11/05/2020 19:13

Oh :(

Apolloanddaphne · 11/05/2020 19:13

He made a mistake. He should have said no earlier.

OneMomentInHistory · 11/05/2020 19:13

No, step three in the guidance very clearly says "some" of the remaining businesses to reopen, not all.

StealthPolarBear · 11/05/2020 19:14

Is it just me or has chris whitty visibly lost weight in the last few weeks.

This one on one thing makes no sense. Single parents are stuffed aren't they.

OP posts:
StealthPolarBear · 11/05/2020 19:17

I'm genuinely not trying to push the boundaries, but if I go and see my parents does one of them have to stay at home, and they can swap? Even though they live together.

OP posts:
StealthPolarBear · 11/05/2020 19:20

But if I take ds we can split up and see one parent each. As long as ds and I don't stay close together.

R is officially my least favourite letter

SueEllenMishke · 11/05/2020 19:29

He meant 'no earlier than' as that's what it says on the document released today.

SueEllenMishke · 11/05/2020 19:29

*in the document

Windyatthebeach · 11/05/2020 19:32

Better be - it's my birthday the 4th!!

Chloemol · 11/05/2020 19:33

You and ds are a household. Therefore both of you can only meet one person from another household at the park, keeping 2m distance.

So you could meet one of your parents

StealthPolarBear · 11/05/2020 19:34

Nope, very clear, one on one.
Otherwise my household could meet my parents household.

But you're only allowed to see one person from another household and this would be the DF seeing two people. It's one person seeing one person.

Redolent · 11/05/2020 19:36

No I’m pretty sure it’s one-on-one. Otherwise a family of 5 could meet a family of 4 and the gathering just becomes unwieldy. But yes it basically means that young children can’t mix with other people.

StealthPolarBear · 11/05/2020 19:36

He's just repeated "one on one" not "your household and one other person"

OP posts:
StealthPolarBear · 11/05/2020 19:37

Single parents of young children can't either, unless they send their children to school

OP posts:
msmith501 · 11/05/2020 19:38

It also says no earlier on the scrolling message at the bottom of the screen. He made a small slip up but it's there in red and white. Still not the clearest briefing ever

StealthPolarBear · 11/05/2020 19:39

But if ds and I drive to a park and my parents do we can split up

OP posts:
RoosterPie · 11/05/2020 19:40

I am trying to be positive but I think the chances of infections not having spiked by then are small so it won’t matter either way Sad

Now this sounds like stuff that should have been announced at the beginning
