Are people scared of easing the lockdown

According to a poll 2/3 of people in the UK are against easing the restrictions.
I'm curious because when I drove to work yesterday (I work in a school and am on a rota so I go into school once a week) it seemed to be very busy. There were definitely more cars on the road than last week and there were lots of families in the town. I know people have to shop, but I was under the impression that only one adult per household should do the shopping and there were a number of two adult families out and about.
I'm wondering if so many people are genuinely scared of easing the lockdown or if at least some people are happy being furloughed and not at work.
I hated the whole thing at the beginning but now my family have sort of settled into our weird routine so can sort of understand the reluctance to going back to normal as it will mean readjusting everything again. But if the restrictions were eased a little, I don't think I'd be scared.

I think people should think about the supermarket workers, the carers, the NHS, the fire brigade, the police, the bin men, the DWP workers etc etc etc. They HAVE to go in - social distancing should be put in for most businesses - we HAVE to get back to work as soon as possible.

I can actually understand people who have been off of work for the last 6 weeks not wanting to go back - being off is the new 'normal'. However - you're putting yourself at risk by going shopping, going for a walk even and we all need to get back to the new 'normal' in order to keep support everyone else. It's just the way it is in a civilisation.

No I'm not scared and I'm sorry but the ones jumping up and down demanding longer lockdown are basing it on their own lives . For example they wfh , they are stay at home mums or they are quite happy staying home doing nothing . Or they are key workers who still work .
The rest of us although worried know that if we don't go back to work soon we are simply fucked .

I’m not scared for myself, mainly because my life is fairly isolated anyway. I am scared for those I know who have underlying issues.

I suspect that it’s going to be a long time for things to be normal again, and whilst I know the economy is taking a massive hit, I’m not sure what other options there are.
A second wave as uncontrolled as this present wave - and we're not even peaked (over 6,000 new cases today?) - would be devastating.

I fully expect things to relax, and I’m already seeing people celebrating and arranging parties and get togethers, but I think the result of this may put us back in lockdown.

I'm not scared. One person I know has been hospitalised. I am eligible for testing but really I would like my sad little life back, such as it is. More than that I would like our income back so that we don't lose everything we have worked for all our lives.

Watching my neighbour having visitors and thinking how fed up we all are. She is lonely, she is alone, she is over 70. She misses her family and in the last couple of weeks she has been unable to bear the loneliness any longer.

I am scared of losing my home, I am not scared of being ill. Continue being careful, but let us work, all of us, including those that didn't need to claim financial help, the help we were not eligible for because the business is in the wrong kind of building FFS.
