I think it is but Im just checking.
My MIL is dying (not Covid19) my DC lives in Scotland we live in the south east. He's thinking that he want to come home to say maybe say goodbye and then to obviously stay to attend the funeral. I will go and get him, try and stay over night somewhere its 450+ miles so too far to go up and back in a day and bring him back home. He will the stay here till after the funeral and then he will want to go back to Scotland as its his home so I will the have t take him back I think this would be considered essential travel am I right?

It is essential travel but seems very stressful. Can he not get a train? They are virtually empty at the moment, I would say the risk of contracting anything is very small.

I guess he could get train but its a 10+ hour journey, costs more than (assuming you get your connections it has taken 13+ hours) as he has to change three times and then an hours drive for me to the station and it costs more than night in a luxury hotel! This is his last grandparent and his 5th significant bereavement in 6 years one he has never got over he is not the same person so I feel its kind to go and get him.
