DS had to go to hospital two weeks ago for an emergency op. We both stayed in the children's hospital for two days, from Sunday to Tuesday. I was super careful with hand-washing, the nurses always wore masks and gloves, and DS spent most of the time in bed so wasn't exactly going around touching everything, but I always made sure he sanitised his hands regularly.
When we stayed there, I asked the nurses if we should isolate from the rest of the family when we got home, but they were super reassuring, saying they'd kept the children's hospital completely separate and not to worry.
Since coming home we've been in complete lockdown, with only my DH leaving the house for occasional groceries. DS has since made a full recovery too.
Today though, DS has woken up with a runny nose, is sneezing and sounds a bit bunged up, although says he feels OK.
Am bricking it though. Could it really be coronavirus 14 days after the last time he'd have been exposed to it? Everything I've read says 5 days is most likely for onset of symptoms. 14 days seems like a long time, although I guess it's still technically possible?
Keep telling myself I'm being silly. He hasn't got a cough or a temp, just a runny nose and sneezing. But he couldn't really have caught a cold from someone as we've not been anywhere and he doesn't usually suffer from hayfever.
