Center Parcs

Hi all,

Do you think that when Center Parcs opens it will be relatively easy or fairly difficult to book a break? I can’t work out whether there’s likely to be loads of
availability, or whether there’ll be a scramble of people trying to rebook their breaks

I was originally going at Easter which was cancelled in March. So rearranged in March for end of July. I will not want to go with no pool open or play parks or activities, there would be no point. I wish I had rearranged for next year now.

MrsChoc · 04/05/2020 14:52

We’re due to go in the autumn, only paid deposit so far. Not too fussed about the pool as we usually only swim once or twice. We will likely cancel though as I’m in a vulnerable group and I doubt I’d feel comfortable in the communal areas by that point. It’s a lot to spend on what would amount to a holiday cottage and we’d likely get a better deal elsewhere.

They are opening, no pool , no spa.
Check in now 4 pm instead of 2 pm.
Check out 9 am Hmm
And just looked for August and Christmas and didnt look any cheaper. Four days in August for 4 people still £1200.
We usually go twice a year and love Christmas there. But the early check out , no spa, no pool would spoil it for us.

usernotfound0000 · 26/06/2020 11:31

Wow, that's a lot! I would go if it was significantly cheaper as the pool is the main attraction for us.

KnobChops · 26/06/2020 11:54

We’re booked in August. I’ll cancel/defer if the spa and pool are closed. We’ve all had covid so I’m not fussed about exposure. If everything is open we’ll be there.

Lemmylemming · 26/06/2020 11:57

I’ve been really happy with Center Parcs. Our original booking was during lockdown. We have moved our booking to the autumn, but if pool is still shut then we can move dates again or get a refund. Our other summer holiday location will be open with no facilities (and is not the kind of place you’d book without them), but is refusing to rebook, discount or refund. I’m very unimpressed with them.

B9008 · 26/06/2020 18:48

Not sure why anyone would pay those prices to go there with no facilities when you can get somewhere half the price with no facilities

Floralnomad · 26/06/2020 18:52

We are booked for the first week in December but we only use it as a touring base so I’m just glad it’s reopening . Last year we only went in the swimming pool on one evening so it won’t bother us if it’s still closed . Out of main season it is very cost effective compared with hotels .

ureterr1blemuriel · 26/06/2020 19:34

We spend hours in hours in the pool daily and unfortunately won’t return until it’s open (we normally visit twice a year). They seem to be dealing with it all amazingly though and very impressive customer service.

Sailingblue · 26/06/2020 19:43

I wouldn’t go workout the pool or spa. Center parcs is expensive for what it offers and really the main attraction is having everything on site including the pool.

Neverendingweeds · 26/06/2020 19:47

I am surprised they aren't offering a price reduction given the fact their main attraction - the pool - will be closed. Also they won't let you on site until the afternoon (whereas normally you can turn up first thing) and they want you out of the accommodation by 9am and off the site by midday (again, can usually stay the entire day) so it's cutting peoples breaks short.

I wouldn't go at the moment, purely because they are charging the same price but not offering all the facilities

I wouldnt be going if the pool would be closed. Not without a hefty discount anyway, which I'm sure they wont be offering. I know they will say you can still do XYZ activities for an extortionate extra fee, but the pool is the only real advantage of center parcs over any other holiday home. And I suppose being able to ride your bikes in relative safety around the site.

EggBoxes · 04/07/2020 20:24

I rebooked my April booking to December, but haven't heard anything about the chance of the pool and spa being closed. I wonder if I'd be eligible to a full refund if they haven't opened them by the time of my booking.

Like a PP, so far I've been very impressed with how they've dealt with it.

Iminaglasscaseofemotion · 04/07/2020 20:28

I've booked for November, but I've taken the insurance just incase. If facilities aren't open we probably won't go. I can book a nicer place to stay than center parcs.

pearpickingporky84 · 04/07/2020 21:51

CentreParcs in Longford is opening on the 13th July but the pool isn’t opening until later in the month. They have reduced the price of breaks when the pool is closed and they still have a lot of activities on!
