Isolating from children?

On Tuesday my husband felt awful - achey, dizziness, sickness but no fever or cough. On Wednesday he felt better but still was achey all over and today he is the same with a bit of sickness but no cough or fever. Does this sound like coronavirus?

Since Tuesday he has slept in a different bedroom and used a different bathroom. Yesterday he came into the living room but stayed two metres away on the other sofa. We have a three month old son and he had been isolating from him also. Just wondered if anyone else would? It’s been really hard for him to be away from our son.

Are any of you having to go out to work? If so you can now be tested.

Doesn't sound very Covidy to me but everyone seems to think any symptoms could be that. I guess it's better to be safe than sorry. Sickness isn't a big symptom of it though I don't think.

I’m on maternity leave and he has been furloughed so no we are staying in the house. We’ve hardly been out - I went to the doctors last week for my sons injections and he went to the shop the other day. We were both wearing face masks, sanitised, had showers once we came back and washed clothes straight away

I had this on Sunday, sickness and diarrhoea, aches and pains, dizziness when I stood up. I felt marginally better on Monday atlhough still achey but sickness etc had stopped. I felt fine by yesterday, I just assumed I'd picked up a bug. Obviously it could have been CV but I didn't have any classic symptoms so I assumed not and didn't isolate (I did on Sunday but only because I spent the day in bed).

Yeah that’s what he’s got! Just really weak and achey. Has anyone else in your household had this as well or was it just you?

Just me. I really don't know how I got it, I had been to Asda on Saturday but wouldn't think a stokach bug could be picked up there. We had a BBQ on Saturday evening so maybe I ate something funny, but then we all ate the same. I described it as feeling like a really bad hangover. I am very, very rarely sick (once in 15 years, including in pregnancy) but I did some reading and sickness is not something that comes up as a symptom. I'd make sure hes taking proper precautions like hand washing and disinfecting the bathroom but that would be it.

That’s exactly the same and he’s rarely Ill - it’s the worst I’ve seen him. It doesn’t sound like covid symptoms to me but I’m just so worried about our 3 month.

Yes I think it’s doable to isolate now. The three month old won’t really be aware of what’s going on. It would be much much harder with a toddler who doesn’t understand and keeps running to dad.

What’s the worst that could happen if he isolated? I would do it just to be safe personally.

Misbeehived · 30/04/2020 14:07

I’m not sure if it’s helpful but thought I’d mention that I think COvid May present in atypical ways. My husband was violently sick on Monday (started vomiting blood) and after calling 111 went to A&E. The doctor was pretty certain it was Covid so didn’t take swabs.

We are self isolating but not trying to social distance from each other as very hard to do in a small family home. Although might balance risk differently with a very young baby.

Good luck. Must be very stressful.

Just an update to say that he is feeling much better, no sickness no aches, still no fever or any common symptoms. I think it must’ve just been a bug but very worrying. Thanks all for your advice!
