I haven't been outside since early March, but I have to go to hospital for a chest x-ray tomorrow.
I really haven't been "out out" since last November, due to some weird virus. (I know!)
Frankly, I am terrified, but was going to operate on the spider logic that they are probably more scared of me than I am of them.
I was planning on wearing a face mask and bringing my own hand-sanitiser,
Will that be enough?

I went to the GP for an examination and it was 'sit there, don't touch anything' etc. I had gloves and a mask and changed my clothes as soon as I got home. I imagine if you are going for an x-ray it will all be very prepared. Maybe take something to do while you wait. I have a lung condition too. You'll be fine Flowers

Keep your distance from people, change your clothes and wash them as soon as you get home. Have a shower and hair wash when you get back too and you will have done everything you can to try not to catch anything.

Be aware of the people around you and respecting the 2m distance, might mean stepping into the road (when safe) sometimes. Most nice people smile as they give you a polite wide birth to show they are not being rude. If you are going into shops or hospitals take a minute to read any signs with new instructions before you go inside, and look out for floor stickers indicating where to stand etc for one way systems around shops and social distancing in queues. Shops will mostly still take cash but contactless is better if you can.

Thank you all for your advice.
I think that the hair-washing is a very good point, which I would probably have forgotten.
I heard advice last week that said that would help people suffering with hay-fever, so that you don't wake up already suffering from the allergens that have accumulated in your hair.
I am coming to believe that COVID 19 should be treated as something that triggers violent reactions from the immune system, e.g, micro-clotting, etc., and is very unlike influenza.

Took dd for emergency dental treatment yesterday. One way system in operation. We were both scanned with a thermometer, and told to use hand gel. One nurse not wearing her mask properly (what is the point of having them if they're not fitted correctly?!)

Only dd allowed in to dentist, I had to wait outside.

Parking charges were suspended 😁

I went for a chest x-ray last week. It was very quick and easy, appointments were staggered so that I didn’t encounter anyone except the receptionist and the woman taking the X-ray. Appointment was at 11, I arrived at 10.45 and was in my car driving home at 10.55! Hopefully your experience will be similar.
