dm under lying health condition in hospital for another reason for 2 weeks during lockdown was given covid test - negative, had to be moved to hospital nearer home has been tested again 2 weeks and she's now positive !
if this happens in hospital what is really the point of people thinking i've had a negative test so now all is well, it doesn't stop them contracting it minutes / hours /days later. Confused

I agree

It means if they test negative, they can go back to work.

Given the speed with which those home tests are disappearing, none whatsoever!

They are for key workers who are symptomatic... yet DH has spent an hour arguing with his boss today, a) he's not a key worker, b) he isn't showing any symptoms, c) he isn't going back to work for a fortnight.

I've had much the same argument on Facebook. 2 pharmacy workers (different pharmacies) trying to sign up, one has a temperature the other does not. Why is the second even trying?

How many more of those trying are not show any symptoms? Total waste, people panicking and using a resource not intended for them.

I know Jennie Harries said it was to be expected and urged people be sensible, but, apart from skewing the data, it's such a bloody waste, leaving those who are symptomatic waiting for even longer, not working, not supporting the NHS, not saving lives...
