Not yet published or peer reviewed but there's a possible link to strokes (and heart attacks) in younger patients.
The thoughts are that younger patients survive the respiratory issues but can then be caught out by other ways the virus manifests and that it's not the (relatively speaking) straightforward respiratory / pneumonia based illness originally thought.
My friend's sister has been taken into hospital (36-37 years old) and is being treated with injections (to presumably thin the blood) and referenced this article.
Just worth knowing and keeping an eye on anyone who catches it re: stroke symptoms and getting into hospital earlier rather than later if you feel very unwell.
I know 111 have been very difficult but other threads suggest the NHS staff at COVID units have been quite shocked at the state some people have been left in and told they can't attend hospital.
