My friend is needing to visit the hospital for a routine appointment in a couple of weeks time, so far it’s still going ahead.
To get there she would need to travel on public transport and that would be two buses.
I spoke to her last night and offered to drive her there as I felt bad at the thought of her getting two buses in this current climate. She lives alone.
Afterwards I thought about it and realised it goes against the rules, but I’m not sure if it does because it’s travelling a medical appointment. Can anyone help give some insight?

It's permitted if that's your main issue
Make sure she sits in the back and both wear masks, even if they're just cotton home made ones (plenty online that you only need to fold, not sew) also open the windows.

It's FAR safer for her.

Loads more risk for you, but I'd do it for my close friends.

Make sure she's double checked the appointment still stands though. Wipe down the door handles ,seat belt etc afterwards with soapy water or Dettol

It's fine.

@SpongeCake23
It's not strictly within the rules. However, personally if I was in that situation I would just do it. Ignore the people who will moan and rant and say no.

Does she know it is definitely going ahead? I would not take lack of cancellation to mean that it hasn’t. Letters go missing.

All of my mum’s and my DH’s face to face appointments have been cancelled, and there have been letters to say they’ll be in touch to organise FaceTime if the Dr thinks they need to be seen.

@wiseupjanetweiss she says she thinks it is. More than that I don’t know.

It’s a mammogram that she has annually as she’s in the risk catogery

I think it would be covered under offering help to a vulnerable person
