Mental health improvement

I have suffered hugely with my mental health for a long time. I have found it has improved under lock down. It is like the pressure is off.

I don't have much money and I am scared if the virus but it's nice to be away from
Pressure and selfish people.

Anyone else? Am I going insane?

Nope, I feel exactly the same. I’m autistic. Im enjoying nobody getting in my space and not being under pressure to socialise.

I am experiencing the same OP, it's very strange. We are not alone, it seems - my best friend who is in total isolation abroad says they are feeling more relaxed than usual, and a group of friends on FB are saying they feel unusually stress free.

I'm able to sleep through the night with no anxious waking for the first time in years.

I think it's something to do with having our choices taken away and life becoming very simplified. I try to keep my news reading very limited and I have a garden, so that's a big factor in keeping my mind elsewhere.

I have totally lost all my income, possibly until next year due to the industry I work in, so I shouldn't be feeling this way, but things are ok.

Me too!!! I think it’s because I’m not missing out on anything due to my health condition because no one is doing anything!!

I totally thought I wouldn’t cope with lockdown as I hadn’t been coping great with being off work previous to that and great stretches of time doing nothing but I’m fine now. And really enjoying the company of my children and not feeling pressure to rush off and do exciting things with them

I am enjoying not rushing around - work, school, nursery, clubs in an endless cycle. I am enjoying my children a lot more also and I don't feel as stressed by them which is great.

However it has been replaced by a new stress - completing my job at home with 2 kids while DH also tries to work along with us home schooling a 6 year old and dealing with a clingy 3 year old.

So yeah out with one stressor and in with another for me.

It's going to depend on what your coping strategies for dealing with your mental health issues are, isn't it.

I cope by being 100% busy, rarely being in the house, working very long hours, doing several evening activities and, on empty days, going to coffee shops, charity shops and making sure I connect face to face with at least one person. So lockdown is a disaster for me.

If you cope via down time, alone time and relaxation then I can easily imagine you will see huge improvements.
