Thank you. Haven't had anymore sleep, but have had coffee. Embarrassingly my job is based in statistics. I just wasn't taking anything in.
Its the details (that we may never get) that interest me.
Like the pregnant nurse that died. I really don't like how she keeps being used, by some morning news programmes referencing her to the ppe shortage. I feel its using her circumstances, to draw more emotion into interviews. Her death, wasn't related to her work or lack of ppe.
It makes me wonder how many 'nhs deaths' are actually due to people catching it at work. We may not be able to say definitely, obviously, but it would interesting to see. My auntie for example, is an NHS administrator. She has been tested. Whilst waiting for the test she kept insisting it was caught at work. Depsite her working in an office external to the hospital. Her test was negative. Her husband however, does go and see his parents 3 or 4 times a week. His parents have lots of people in and out. They all had a a bug, its far more likely she got through her husband than at work.
But if it was possible, would her diagnosis be in with the numbers of NHS workers that contracted it?
I am BAME, well mixed heritage. I can see why environmental and cultural issues that would mean people of my mums families culture would get it and spread it. High occupancy, multi generational living means that if one person gets it more people in the house will be at risk. There's also some predisposition to certain health issues. The vit d theory.
Cumbria is an odd one. I don't know that part of the county well. But I understand its quite rural? If distance to hospital is a factor, I can imagine lots of people don't go until its too late.
I live fairly rural and its quite common for people to put off hospital trips because its too far, or a small hospital and they don't want to out on them. Is it alck of ambulance availability.
As I said, I am interested in all the detail that can completely change statistics and the findings from them. Probably never going to get it, but it does make me wonder.
