Morrison’s online order query

Hello there,

I’ve got an online order booked for delivery this Saturday with Morrison’s (asthmatic so trying to avoid supermarkets but not on the shielded list). I was lucky enough to book this a week ago. I am now trying to amend it to include some items for my elderly neighbour, but most things on her list are showing as out of stock - this includes all fresh fruit apart from pears and most fresh veg.
Obviously I know this is not the time to be a picky shopper but has anyone got any experience of this - is it worth me logging back in a few times each day to see if things come back in stock? Not used Morrison’s before so not sure how the system works.

(Obviously I will share my groceries with her if necessary but am happy to keep queuing to get back on the website if that has a chance of working.)

Thanks for any advice - we are in NOrth West if that has any bearing on it,

It might be worth logging in again, though I've found their stock prediction to be really inaccurate anyway, just to warn you. Last week we ordered £50 worth of shopping and what turned up amounted to about £20 worth.

Do you have a local greengrocers? Morrison’s are useless for fresh fruit and veg at the moment. Some greengrocers are doing a click and collect.

They use a warehouse not a shop to fulfil orders so their site is more accurate in my experience, and does get restocked. I had a shop from them on Wednesday, everything came except for one thing, the fruit and veg was all fine. Keep checking!

And I'm in the north west too, north greater manchester to be precise.

Their stock changes daily so definitely worth the pain of having to sit in a queue to see if items have come back in stock. They have put in a 48 hour cut off to amend your order before delivery, and I have found items that had previously out of stock back in a and vice versa.

I've been quite lucky to date with very few missing items or subs, though today's delivery is missing soap, which I really need :(

They have put in a 48 hour cut off to amend your order before delivery, 72 hours now

My Morrison's shop came last night with no substitutes or anything. Fruit and veg has good dates on them. I'm in Yorkshire. I amended my shop up to 48 hours before.

We can amend up to 24h before delivery. Maybe it depends on the area?

Thank you all, that is really helpful Smile

@lakequeen I think it depends on where you are whether they use a warehouse or a local store. I was told by Morissons that our orders (south east) come from a local store so I think that's why it's been pretty poor for us. I can see why warehouse deliveries would be better.

lakequeen · 20/04/2020 13:30

@silverdollarcity

Ah makes sense, ours come from their warehouse in Liverpool, I think it is.

H1978 · 20/04/2020 13:56

Not ordered from Morrisons lately but previously their availability of stock is really good and worth checking back before delivery date

MereDintofPandiculation · 20/04/2020 14:19

I amended my shop up to 48 hours before. In the "news" section they've been asking 72 hours for some time, and when I logged on a couple of days ago they'd changed the advice on the front page to 72 hours. I think it's a request rather than mandatory, but they do warn that if you do too many late changes, they won't be able to cope and you may lose your entire order. I'm also Yorkshire.

MereDintofPandiculation · 20/04/2020 14:22

I can see why warehouse deliveries would be better. Yes, we're from a warehouse, and it's been good. Before CV it was rare to have a substitution, now there's good availability on the website (except flour) and at most 2-3 substitutions when it arrives.

MereDintofPandiculation · 20/04/2020 14:23

Availability of slots is not good, though. It's a cause for celebration in this (shielding) household if we get a slot.
