On BBC News 24 now, article in tomorrow's Sunday Times says that ministers are considering schools going back in three weeks time. Plus allowing some shops and social gatherings, but not pubs and clubs.

Clavinova

Surely some teachers would have had their time off in lieu before the Easter break when many schools didn't really know what they were doing?

You mean before the schools knew who was going to be in over Easter?

And when they where trying to sort out class work etc?

Random article from Stoke-on-Trent;

"It has been recommended that all staff who volunteer to work over Easter should be paid an extra £20 per hour which is in line with the rates offered to teachers running summer schools."

Just messaged my friend. She knows nothing about pay or TOIL. I have informed her so she can tell our head. Consider yourself to have done a public service to the teaching profession clav

Thank Christ this thread is nearing its natural end.

But, for the record, the Government (whose decision this always was, not the lazy ,feckless, bastarding teachers) have said that there is no truth in the rumour that schools will be going back before June.

Now can all you teacher-bashers go and find something more productive to do, please?

I have already quoted DfE guidance published in Tes and Schools Week before Easter.

I don't think anyone disputes the DfE guidance exists.

Some of us are reserving judgement on whether it's all followed.
