Giving birth soon- I am petrified!

I'm due to give birth any day now and I have a 2 year old at home. The plan is to drop DD at my Dads home when the time comes and pick her up after, obviously she will stay with my DH as long as possible.

My worry is catching Coronavirus in hospital and then coming home to my DD with my newborn I'm terrified of being oblivious and passing it onto her.

Can anyone tell me if my concerns are legitimate or if I'm overthinking it as it's keeping me awake at night and I'm so tired and worried I just need someone to tell me straight how risky this whole thing is going to be.

Does your county and local hospital have many cases that you are aware of? If your local area doesn't have many cases then I wouldn't worry much. The number of confirmed cases are on the gov website

I am in exactly the same position as you. I have a thousand worries on my mind. Strangely, its not really near the top of my list catching it and bringing home for 2 year old and newborn. It should be prob, but i think i dont have the capacIty to worry about post birth right now, as I am so worried about pre birth and birth!
I’m in London, in a hugely affected hospital.
Just try not to imagine the maternity ward as one big infected hole. Yes of course it’s possible - but pregnant women have been mostly isolating for a month or so, the midwives are around those isolated people, it’s not the riskiest part of the hospital. But I get your worries. And if you did get and pass to your kids the odds say that you would all mostly experience this mildly.
I am worried too, i’m 39+1. But there’s logic behind what i’m saying

Our local hospital has covid on every ward except the children’s wards and maternity where they are covid free.
They are in a separate part of the hospital and managing to stay covid free. All staff are wearing masks too so that they reduce the risk of passing it on to you. Hopefully it will be similar in your hospital. Smile
