I work in an intermediate care team. We were told today that we should not put our PPE on until we are inside the person's home. Before, we were doing it outside the front door.
We're to do it inside for confidentiality and to prevent stigma.
I and a lot of my colleagues aren't happy about this. We visit clients with an active CV diagnosis and / or symptoms. If they are mobile and open the front door themselves, it's not unrealistic to think they could cough / splutter as we enter, or that a relative opening the door could. Or we could do the same to them.
We want to challenge this, so it'd be good to hear other people's thoughts / experiences.
Thanks
