Interesting reading.

Newspaper/pint of milk/loaf of bread as single items - 'likely reasonable'.

Buying non-essentials/luxuries with other shopping - same.

Picking up food from a friend - same.

Leaving home to go to another house for a few days because of arguments in household-same

Buying just non-essentials/luxuries if already out of the house for good reason - same.

Resting or stopping to eat on a long walk - same.

Travel to exercise - same. And confirms travel to exercise is not unlawful.

All those people who need to drive to walk the dog - do they usually do it every day? Yes I do.

This is really useful OP, thanks for sharing.

"Visiting a vet’s surgery in person to renew a prescription (where this could be done over the phone)."

I've visited my vet 3 times in the past week. The first was to collect a prescription, the vet would normally examine my cat every month but it was decided after a phone call to keep the status quo. You pay over the phone and then go to the collection window they have set up.

The second my kitty got ill, after 2 chats on the phone they decided they needed to see him. They collected his carrier from the car, examined him and then discussed treatment over the phone.

The third was sadly PTS and one owner was allowed in at the very end with the vet administering the medicine on a long line from the other side of the room.

So I'm still confused. They say it's OK to go to a different household now for a few days. This is great for anyone living with an abusive partner. I'm wondering how it applies to me. I've been staying with my mum who has dementia for the last three weeks. She still has carers come in twice a day. I haven't been home or seen my partner in the three weeks I've been here. I'm diagnosed with depression and I'm finding it very hard. Dementia is demanding and hard no matter how much you love the person your looking after. Will I be able to go home for a break now?

Hotlollygirl
I would say you're ok and your visits to your mum would be covered by providing care to a vulnerable person, though I can't remember the wording.

Dementia is really hard. You've got to look after yourself before you can look after others.

@Hotlollygirl You always were.

Relieved to see clarity. DS is autistic and I have to drive him for exercise. We've been going to the local woods which are a carpet of bluebells at the moment. He loves the peace and calmness.
