Has anyone in this blood group had coronavirus and recovered ?

Yes I’m very anxious so trying to research as much as possible. I know it won’t help

If you're that anxious, the best thing would not to go down all these faint whiffs of rabbit holes OP. Turn off the news, go and do something you enjoy. I don't think anyone on here should feed your anxiety like this.

TheWordWomanIsTaken · 14/04/2020 22:34

I could have written FaFoutis post except I am in week four.
I had two weeks where I was completely debilitated - I now still have a crippling cough, tight chest, aches, tiredness etc. I feel completely wiped out. Never tested but my GP is sure I have had it. First sign was a temperature that lasted a few days, went and then came back a week later.
I'm A+, mid fifties, not overweight but probs towards the top of healthy BMI, no underlying health problems, non-smoker

Carrie7469 · 14/04/2020 22:35

OP you're scaring yourself unnecessarily. In the nicest possible way, stop it

browzingss · 14/04/2020 22:37

I think you may be clutching at straws

South Asians have a higher change to be B+/B- compared to other ethnic groups. Many south Asians have unfortunately passed away from covid, just take a look at the list of confirmed NHS staff deaths. So your logic the B group should be at the top of the list of being “hit hard” if the blood group is to blame, but in reality it could have no correlation

Lindy2 · 14/04/2020 22:37

If a clear majority of cases ill in hospital were all blood group A surely that would be quite a clear and easy link for doctors to look into.

I've only seen it mentioned in one Chinese article and no one else medical seems to be mentioning it at all.

I'm A+ so hoping there isn't a blood group issue. Although I'm worried about the whole thing I'm not going to increase my anxiety any more because of 1 article which mentioned a possibility of a connection. I think things like smoking, blood pressure, BMI are much more relevant and at least something that some people could work on changing and improving.

Xtinalee · 14/04/2020 22:38

Thanks for all your replies it gives me a bit of reassurance. The gene thing on the news has worried me now though 😟 saying someone could have a certain gene that makes younger generation ill. I hope they can discover what genes it is people have so we can act accordingly and it can be treated.

A+ and am fairly confident I had it at the end of Jan/beg of Feb. I was ill for several weeks, fever, horrendous cough, dizzy, exacerbated asthma etc...

MaxNormal · 14/04/2020 22:40

I'm A+, I think I've had it, it was mild although it really dragged out.

Tootletum · 14/04/2020 22:45

This cracks me up. Nearly half the population is A+. With such a huge number of people how would you prove causation rather than correlation? If more people who've died of CV were A+ than another blood group it could just be within the error margin - eg. If 50% of deaths were A+ that would only be 5% more than expected by the distribution in the population and could be correlated with multiple other factors that might also not be causative. I'm certainly not worrying!

Mumtofourandnomore · 14/04/2020 22:52

I’m A+ so one (or both) of my parents must be too. They have both had it and were tested (they live on the Isle of Man where everybody with symptoms is tested).

My dad is 70, he had it mildly, small temperature and a cough, all better in six days. My mum is in her late sixties and overweight, she had a cough and a very little temperature at night. Both were exhausted (mum for longer). Neither were anywhere near needing hospital treatment.

So, I may be A+ but I’m feeling confident.....

fuggyfush · 14/04/2020 22:54

A+ wasn't tested but was hospitalised in French alps back in Feb with fever, breathless, dry cough, tachycardia, muscle aches plus strep throat. Was in

FaFoutis · 14/04/2020 23:06

How long did it take for your cough to go fuggy?
Mine doesn't seem to be getting any better, I'm at about 5 weeks and sick of it.

fuggyfush · 14/04/2020 23:21

Cough was never really bad, just annoying dry cough (and can't be sure was corona). I finally stopped coughing towards the end of last week, so around 45 or so days in. So maybe the end is in sight! Hope you feel better soon FaFoutis.

Xtinalee · 14/04/2020 23:26

@Carrie7469 I’ll try!

I’m blood group A+ and I believe I had it about 4 weeks ago, GP I spoke to over the phone at the time also agreed.
I’m still getting over it now but cough almost gone.
For me it was sore throat, chills, body aches, slight temperature, cough followed and is still there ever so slightly. I also had a tight chest, back and rib pain and slight breathlessness on exertion, but nothing major.
I am 30, overweight, non smoker, no underlying health conditions that I know of and I catch everything as I work in a school and seem to get every bug going. Never seriously ill though and always recover fairly quickly. This one is dragging out though, if it is Covid.

FaFoutis · 14/04/2020 23:47

Thanks fuggy.

Hedgehog26 · 14/04/2020 23:55

OP I mean this nicely but asking on an Internet forum if people with your blood group have had it and recovered isn’t doing research. Research is reading peer reviewed articles etc. You are just going to hear stories from the people that want to reply.

As other people have said take a step back from the internet, read a book and limit how often you watch the new etc
