How such a nasty virus capable of killing healthy people can manifest itself by,well not doing, in some people?

And how do we know it does? Have some countries tested people with no symptoms?

Is it all down to viral load?

I believe the % of asymptomatic people on the Diamond Princess was 14%. They kept them isolated until they tested negative hence why they can be sure that the lack of symptoms was not due to them being in the incubation period at the time of testing. It has been speculated that the % asymptomatic in the general population would be higher as the Diamond Princess population was largely comprised of the elderly who generally suffer more severe symptoms.

I’m also very interested in this. I am blood group A+, up until the last few years I never caught colds or anything going around but since turning 30 I’ve found I’m more susceptible to colds, I had a very bad one for 3 weeks which turned to sinusitis back in October, recovered then caught a milder one a few weeks later! I did have Serious pneumonia when I was 20, 9 weeks after having DD, was in HDU on cpap and it was put down as community acquired and said to be because my immune system was so low after giving birth so I wonder if that would put me at a disadvantage should I get covid? It’s not a risk factor with my work in frontline nhs though so I don’t know

I think the Diamond Princess is also interesting when considering the theory that vitamin D is protective.

Generally, older people have lower vit D, but those on the cruise ship would have spent time outdoors and are likely to have eaten well.
