Any carers in residential care with residents who ate Covid 19 positive

As the title says, looking for advice on what carers working in residential care can to do if some of their residents have tested positive for Covid 19.

I’ve NC as I don’t want to be identified as it’s not public knowledge that some residents have tested positive.

I’m scared to go into work. We have aprons, gloves and face masks, not an infinite supply, and no face shields, we have soap, water and hand gel.

Can anyone reassure me, tell me how it’s working if you are in the same situation. My children are cared for by their grandparents when I am at work. They are not elderly.

What should my employer do, what should I expect.

I see this has been in the media the last two days, but it is a disgrace that it has taken so long. I do feel we have been overlooked and forgotten about in this pandemic.

At work we now have visors because someone had them made, they were not issue, but when you are bathing and cleaning, providing intimate care it is easy for us to be sprayed rather than just touch.

We were sweating but we are also committed to providing the best care. I also took those guidelines in about arriving home safe and shared them as we all need to protect ourselves to protect each other.

I will believe the promises of action and testing when I see it.

With regards to the testing, did i read the test can pick up it you have had the virus? As well as if you've got it at the time of the test?

Antibody year hasn’t been produced yet.
The current test is for if you have it, with our without symptoms, not if you have had it.

Test not year. Apologies
