Is this going to make you think twice about what you spend money on?

Given we can’t really spend money on anything right now, will you think twice before spending on ‘stuff’?

I’m literally making use of the last potato right now and it’s really brought home the fact I do waste money on stuff normally.

Do you think you’ll quickly go back to spending money on clothes, shoes, holidays, hotels, nights out, restaurants?

In an economy person A's spending is person B's income.

Sentiments like these, whilst totally understandable from an individual perspective, are going to be one of the reasons why the economy is going to take such a hit.

It's not only that a huge fraction of businesses have zero income for months, and many of these will go under permanently. It's that a huge, unpredictable event like this is going to change people's behaviour for a long time.

Not everyone will change, and some that change will lapse back into old spending habits. But I would bet that this caution hangs over the economy for a long time.

It’s made me realise I do not miss fast food or takeaways I would most likely have one takeaway at a weekend and maybe a naughty McDonald’s or Greggs or something for a lunch one day so that’s around £30 for 2 adults a week! I will not be doing that anymore so I have just saved £1500 a year, amazing what fast food add ups up to Blush
