Can I deliver food to elderly parents living 2 hours away

Sorry if this has been done, both parents are over 70 and can’t get a food delivery slot, but are 2 hours away. Could I travel to them this weekend to leave some shopping at the end of their drive? I’m worried I may get stopped if I try to drive that sort of distance

I order a Morrisons box for my parents, ordered it tuesday and it is getting delivered today.

Here in Shropshire the Co op is doing next day deliveries and greengrocer, butcher and baker are also doing free deliveries. My daughter lives 20 minutes away and has come over and left stuff in a bag hung over the fence a couple of times but 2 hours is a long way if another way is possible.

I'm doing the same. My parents are over 80 with disabilities. Munsnin a wheelchair and dads deaf and visually impaired. I've ordered a food delivery but have to go around to take it in for them and put away. I'm going to tell them to stay away from me, in one room while I do it! I'd hate to think that I passed anything onto them.

Morrisons seem to have launched another delivery option as well now.

There's a menu of 45 popular items and you order what you want from it for delivery. It's basics like apples, chicken breasts, bread etc.

They seem like they are really doing well with putting together straightfood delivery options for people who may well have never shopped like that before.

I’m in a similar situation except a little easier, parents only an hour away. I got them a Sainsburys delivery but it arrived missing all dairy and stuff like washing up liquid, washing powder, and the wrong type of bread. Her friends are mostly over 70 or disabled themselves and none are internet savvy. So I took a load over and left it on the doorstep. Since then I got a younger member from the bowling club mum used to go to to take her shopping over. It’s so good of her. It doesn’t help that mum’s in a tiny flat with a tiny fridge freezer that will only store a couple of days worth of food at the most. I’ll go over again on a flash

There also ready meals services like this which do meals on wheels, e.g. parsley box, wiltshire farm foods online (deliver) and local shops might if you ring them.

My mum is very remote and managed to get her parsley box delivery the next day and also a veg box, then her milkman will bring milk and bread.
