Just wanting a bit of advice and educating based on my situation -
My parents are in the high risk category for COVID-19 (Dad has prostate cancer, Mum has COPD) so have been self isolating for the past few weeks. Sister has moved out and lived elsewhere during this time as she's a key worker so comes into contact with a lot of people. It's worth mentioning that my dad is also my mum's full time carer.
Last week dad received a call to say they have an surgery appointment available to remove his cancer today (op was this morning), he'll stay overnight then will come home but is unable to do so much as pick something up from the floor. I know my mum won't be able to do everything he usually does (cook, clean etc) due to her disability.
My question is, if I self isolate for 14 days from when I last went out and don't show symptoms, would I then be able to go over and care for them, providing I continue self isolating with them and don't go out? The alternative is to have nurses/carers come into their home to help but this seems more risky as they will have come into contact with more people than I have. Just not sure if it would be classed as a non-essential outing or an unnecessary journey?
