Denmark to start a slow open up from Wednesday next week -

As long as we all continue to behave ourselves over Easter and our numbers remain manageable.

Children in nursery, kindergarden and up to 5th class to go back from Wednesday next week.

Halleluja!

Sensible policy. How far behind peak are we in the U.K.?

(Hopes the British Covidiots manage to stay in and behave at Easter. In fact, for the first time ever, I’m hoping it pisses it down for the whole bank holiday).

HannibalOnaHeffalump · 06/04/2020 19:48

Covidiots? You consider yourself a covintellectual, presumably.

ShanghaiDiva · 06/04/2020 19:48

Great to have some positive news.

LooQoo · 06/04/2020 19:50

@HannibalOnaHeffalump

Nope but I am following government advice on social distancing ie not inviting friends round for a corona party / BBQ and keeping our household at home.

HannibalOnaHeffalump · 06/04/2020 19:52

Like pretty much everybody. Have a gold star.

Great about Denmark, OP.

Danetobe · 06/04/2020 20:00

Great news!

LooQoo · 06/04/2020 20:03

@HannibalOnaHeffalump

You clearly got out of the bed on the wrong side.

There are plenty of reports in the news about people ignoring government advice.

dietcoker · 06/04/2020 20:12

How long have you been in lockdown there again OP? X

headispounding · 06/04/2020 20:15

Denmark went into lockdown 12 days before us according to the internet.

Danetobe · 06/04/2020 20:26

The borders were shut also. they tested over 6000 today and yesterday hoping to get to 7000 a day this week. Which given the size of the population would be equivalent to over 70,000 a day in the uk. Testing childcare, socialcare and health care workers regularly as well as suspected patients.

MIgZig · 06/04/2020 20:48

Lockdown was announced 11 March. To start from the following Monday compulsory, but as soon as possible before. So if you could work from home and/or keep kids off school from 12 you were encouraged to do so.

Yes and why are there reports about it? Because news items are newsworthy. That is, the rare idiots who won't comply make it into the news, eg these: www.getreading.co.uk/news/reading-berkshire-news/group-caught-after-crashing-car

But it doesn't mean everyone is doing it.

cologne4711 · 06/04/2020 20:56

Great news about Denmark (and Austria). Hopefully we won't be that far behind.

Appuskidu · 06/04/2020 21:00

Wow—a great approach!

LooQoo · 06/04/2020 21:25

@cologne4711

Show me where I said everyone is doing it?

Fucking hell, the petty little girls of mumsnet even manage to bring a positive thread down .
