Anyone else idly wondering why they keep changing the lecturn signs??

I know its literally the most unimportant thing to take away from the daily briefings but every time they do another update the signs on the lecturns appear to have changed.

They dont appear to be digital unless im really unobservant but they do seem to change daily. It's bugging me as to why this happens and why someone feels this is necessary especially when they always have the same message.

Anyone have any idea why they change or am I the only one idly wondering?

I presume it's so people will take more notice, in some small way. If they didn't change no one would read them after a night or two.

Lectern.

Like @Minesacider said, I assume they’re trying to make people take slightly more notice than they would if it was an identical sign.

Deelish75 · 06/04/2020 17:34

Agree with others, to catch people’s eye and make them take note.

Lectern.

Ah damn it appears my autocorrect thinks it knows better. Grin

I can understand changing them so people take notice but the message is the same on every sign. It just seems like a strange thing to have someone creating new signs when the message is the same.

Plus even though people can clearly read it some are still not following it. Those who aren't are not likely to do so based on the sign changing daily.

On a side note - I wonder how senior Tories have the nerve to stand behind a sign saying 'protect the NHS' when they have spent the last 10 years destroying it?! Angry

It does make you wonder. Although given how little they cared at the time and the fact they still have jobs and are not the ones facing the outbreak I'm sure they sadly have no problem standing behind such signs. Sad

I did wonder this too, also who did the queens hair for her speech? Surely nobody is allowed within 2 meters of her?

Information leaves what's called a 'neural trace'. Because we've already 'written it down' on the brain, we don't need to pay as much attention to it next time we see it. Changing the sign, even in the smallest way, tells the brain: 'Hey, look at this, it's new!' making us pay attention.

I suspect the colours will have been specially chosen to instil a sense of something into us too.

@CamdenTownie A syrup, perhaps?
