Baby vaccinations

Are baby vaccinations still happening? I'm meant to get an appointment from the gp, apparently they will call me but I haven't received one yet. Tried to ring them earlier this week but couldn't get through

A bit nervous about bringing baby to the Gp as I feel there are loads of germs about! But equally I do want him vaccinated!

Hi, I'm not in the UK but they are still happening in Australia as they are an essential service. I just had the 1year one for my son. They managed to add the influenza one too so we don't have to come back several times (we are going into winter). Any CV symptom exhibiting people stay in their cars and are attended to in the carpark. Surgery was almost empty when I went. I waited outside regardless.
I think the risk of not vaccinating is greater than the risk of contracting the virus.baby will be stronger with the vaccine, try not to worry xxx you can always leave and reschedule if it seems too busy or unsafe but they are taking great care

The surgery will be so quiet I suspect you won't see anyone.
Most GP's are doing mainly telephone triage, they will ask you not to arrive early and you will literally go straight in and out.
The waiting room at mine wasn't even open when I saw the midwife last week.
I literally sat in the car, went in, they checked my temperature and as soon as my appointment was done I was out. Only people I saw were doctors in their offices as I walked down the corridor.

Yes they're classed as essential. Perhaps email the surgery if you can't get through on the phone.

Yes, they are still happening and PHE (and presumably equivalents in other home nations) are saying that it is extremely important that they are done.

The last thing the NHS needs right now is a bad year for whooping cough or a measles outbreak

Good idea about emailing them! Thank you
