Getting really panicky

I keep seeing people say they will bring in tighter restrictions and stop daily exercise soon. I’m not sure my mental health will cope as we are in a tiny house and no garden, we have a 17 month old who is always wanting to go out, bringing me his shoes because he wants to go outside. We go out for our one walk a day currently.
That’s keeping me (almost) sane.
And allowing him to get the fresh air he needs.
Do you really think they’ll impose a rule of no exercise next? We live very rurally and hardly see anyone when we’re out and about anyway.

Who is saying that? I can't see there would be anything to gain from stopping people doing an activity that boosts their mental and physical health and doesn't put them at risk if social distancing is observed.

I just keep seeing it on Facebook (from people posting) and on here too. Because people aren’t adhering the rules this weekend, people are saying they’ll tighten restrictions.

MozFan - In the nicest possible way there's lots of crap being spouted at the moment! Someone on our local community group said the government are going to spray the air with chemicals which kill the virus Hmm

I find having breaks from social media helps my anxiety.

people are speculating.

do you have any outside space at all? Yard?

FirTree31 · 04/04/2020 21:30

The MAJORITY of people are adhering, it's just far easier to spot those that aren't. I know exactly what you mean, we need daily walks for mental wellbeing, it's non negotiable for my family and I, I feel incredibly anxious about it too. I wish people would stop pushing for it and recognise the good people are doing. This, the judgements made by what's in your trolley and children not being allowed in supermarkets has really tipped me over.

It depends on where you live what you observe Isn't it? I live in Brighton & apparently it's been bad today. Cases are up in the Midlands & Yorkshire. London plateauing.

No, I don't think they will stop us going out for exercising. At worst they may say stay within x hundred metres of your house. People simply wouldn't obey ... think of all the dog owners etc.

I have a toddler who brings me his shoes and hat and coat and beams at me. If I don't take the hint he finds something to bang repeatedly on the (glass) front door. It is simultaneously cute and very annoying!

I've recently discovered he loves watching me dance so now I do a very bad dance workout streaming YouTube on my TV and he dashes around giggling. Then we get all the cushions off the sofa and he climbs all over them and me until he is exhausted.

Try not to worry, I know it's easy to say but honestly this isn't going to be forever. Imagine there's a really thick blanket of snow outside, you wouldn't be going out then. Try not to listen to the speculation, trying to second guess how this will pan out is only going to make you feel worse.
