I dread having to go to the supermarket

For the first time today in nearly three weeks, I had to go shopping. I queued up keeping a distance apart but spent an HOUR in there! I just couldn't find what I needed and kept trying to dodge people then had to queue for ages to pay.

Not many people keeping their distance and no one sticking to the one way system they have on each isle

One member of staff kept talking to me about how she wanted a particular Easter egg and it had gone, she was too close and then she sort of sniffed and I instantly thought 'doom'!

Then I bloody dropped my debit card on the floor for good measure!

I just feel terrified now that I've picked something up as I was in there for so long. I used hand sanitiser as soon as I got out and again when I got in the car but I can't stop thinking now that I might have caught it today.
I really feel for the people working there.

I agree that you should stick to smaller shops. Maybe go of an evening or very early.

Can you try for a click and collect (like gold dust I know).

A local milkman will deliver basics. What about farm shops? Local store deliveries?

Yes it might cost more and you will need to be creative and less fussy, but if it stops the panic then so be it.

I haven't been to a supermarket for 3 weeks now and when I do go back (currently poorly so Si) it will be to the Tesco Express/cornershop.

I'd email the manager of the store and complain. If people are getting complacent then the manager needs to sharpen things up. This is going to go on a while. Complain each time and the more people do the more chance things will improve.

I feel very sorry for the staff. Customers want stuff to be on the shelves so the staff have to be doing that or there would be complaints there's nothing to buy. Not sure about how that's them getting in the way.

Just say excuse me and they will move back surely? I also think it must be very difficult to help a customer from 2 metres away!

I take my own trolly bag in so I don't have to use a trolly.
