How long is disinfectant effective for?

I make up a solution of disinfectant, soak a cloth in it then wipe over surfaces, front door etc. Then dispose of the disinfectant and put the cloth through the wash.

However, if I kept the. cloth soaked in the disinfectant in a Tupperware container, could I keep it for longer? 24 hours? 48 hours? Would the disinfectant still be effective?

This is rather a strange question. Its a chemical. It will also be antibacterial and have no effect on the virus, seems a bit OTT to anti bac your fron door. Also I wouldnt want to prepare food on a suface that had ha disinfectant on it. What is wrong with hot water and detergent?

@NoMorePoliticsPlease a lot of disinfectants are antiviral.

@EmmaGrundyForPM It would depend on the actual product, I know zoflora can be made into a spray, so must have a decent ‘life’span.

Following this post as I do this.
I use the cloth for one day then next morning fresh disenfectant and water and fresh cloth.
I'm now overthinking will it be ok

@NoMorePoliticsPlease. the bottle says its effective against viruses and bacteria.

I don't use it on kitchen worktops.

Can I use it after 24 hours? We only have one bottle and I want it to last as long as possible
