My BMI is 40.1

Obviously my goal overall is to get to a healthy BMI.

And also having a BMI of 39.9 isn't going to make me OK.

But being realistic, what BMI would you start to feel less at risk if the warning sare for 40+

I can't help but think there are some people who love nothing more than the opportunity to churn out a bit of fat phobic nonsense.

Eat as nutritiously as your budget/supermarket/mood allows. Ignore the rest.

Not much can be done right now to get to 30, but you can make a start, I've lost an inch in two weeks by exercise and watching food intake. Will be avoiding chocolate vending machines when all this over. Small steps over a longer time will be beneficial as I fear corona is here for the long haul.

I am a similar BMI and would say two things in addition to previous posts.
Don’t lose weight too quickly as in the short term it will hit your immune system, no more that 2 lbs per week.
I like the type of intermittent fasting where you fit your daily calories into as short a space as possible. Doing this I have lost just over a stone this year. Yes I could’ve lost more but I am happy with that rate of loss as I feel like I can maintain it and keep losing without getting to fed up with the food restrictions. On a good day I have lunch at midday and dinner at 6pm and don’t eat at any other time. I find if I have breakfast I then get hungry in the morning but if I skip it I don’t.

OP if you are using intermittent fasting I would personally be taking a multivitamin to be sure you are getting all the nutrients you need to keep you healthy at the moment.

Good luck!

Likelihood is you will be healthier because of this and survive the virus too so it could be a great thing.

Don’t get stressed, eat healthy (fresh fruit and veg, whole grains, lots of water, tea), exercise (try walk at home with Leslie Sansone) and don’t drink alcohol. Have a proper sleep as well. Good luck x
