Supermarket staff at risk?

I went to the supermarket last night, I was onlybin for 30 minutes. I was careful to only pick up what I was buying. I didn't wear gloves or a mask (rarely see masks used) but used hand sanitizer twice and I never touch my face while I'm out. When I get home I wash my hands and wiped down my shopping with a thin bleach solution.

I do everything I can not to catch or spread the virus and I think given the above my chances of catching it are low. The only thing I worry about is breathing the virus in. Nobody was coughing or sneezing but obviously everyone is breathing and talking.

How much of a risk is this or the supermarket in general and if it is a risk what about the staff in the shops? None were wearing masks or gloves. If I'm at any risk then surely the staff are multiple times the risk the average shopper is?

I wouldn't work in a supermarket unless I wore an adequate respirator mask. Of course they are at greater risk. They may have customers queuing 2 metres apart but when they serve one person they are much closer than that.

They are all doing a fantastic job in going to work and helping to feed the nation in these difficult times.
